Diana Bohîlțea – Social Assistant, Trades School

What does the name Concordia signify to you?

Concordia represents the place where I began my career as a social worker.
It provided me the opportunity and freedom to act and learn; the place where I realized that “Team” is more than a term, that every opinion matters, and that the route to success is easier when you’re united with a single objective.

What do you believe the young people with whom you work are most in need of?

By definition, a social worker is someone who assists individuals in finding solutions and resources at difficult times in their life, as well as assisting them in using these resources to improve their lives.
My activity is carried out with a group of post-institutionalized young people or young people from vulnerable backgrounds.
These young people are at a crossroads in their lives, deciding on their “path in life.”
The key demands highlighted at the group level in most instances are the need to recognize one’s own talents and the need to learn to be accountable.

What do you like most about your job?

I’ve always been involved in assisting; I never stood on the sidelines to help, but I tried my best to aid anyone in need. I adore how no two days are alike and how each day teaches me something new about others and myself. I am highly motivated to get outcomes. I like that I have a specific objective to work toward: developing better resources and solutions to help young people shift their thoughts on the future.

What do you do to unwind after a long day?

I like to “charge my batteries” by having a cup of coffee with my family and pets in the backyard garden.

What have you discovered about yourself in the previous several months?

I discovered and realized that effort and thankfulness enable the impossible to become possible.

Who is your all-time favorite person, and why?

Dragoş Bucur, cinema, theater, and television actor, current host of the TV show “Turnkey Dreams,” but also member of the jury of the show “Romanians Have Talent,” is one of my favorite national-level personalities. Despite having his own children, he adopted a little girl a few years ago, and in the presentation he performs, he expresses genuine, particular feelings, as well as empathy for others in need.
