Ana Maria Isbășoiu – Psychologist

1. What does working at CONCORDIA mean to you?

AM: Spontaneity, creativity and a lot of emotion.

2. How would you describe the campus atmosphere? What color can you associate it with, and why?

AM: A palette with many shades of green that differ from day to day. Sometimes warmer, sometimes colder, brighter or darker, playful or serious… and green because it’s complex, dynamic and full of life.

3. What part of your job do you like the most?

AM: I like the moments when I meet young people on Campus and I can observe how they manifest themselves in pure reality, how they relate to each other, how they prefer to spend their small breaks, simply what is the rhythm of the day for each one of them…. because in the office each person brings with him, rather, his personal reality. And it is very interesting to compare and combine the two perspectives. It’s much more complete.

4. What book would you recommend to a friend and why?

AM: Man in search of the meaning of life by Viktor Frankl, , for the extremely intimate and realistic way in which it brings us into deeper layers of existence.

5. How do you relax after a busy day at work?

AM: I stop, observe myself, and try to figure out what I need. And that differs from day to day and depends on whether the fatigue has affected my body as well. If so, I clearly need to rest – literally. If not, I talk to someone close about how I’m feeling, and if others are tired too, I retreat, observe my thoughts, pray or create something. Of course, I’m talking about ideal days here, because I also have periods when I bury my tiredness in superficial activities, such as sitting excessively on the phone.

6. Tell us something about yourself that not many people know.

AM: I really like to sing, I feel that music has always been part of my life, the first memories related to it are from 2 to 3 years old.

Flash questions:

8. Fruits or vegetables?

9. Your super power?
